Calculators and planners
Work out realistic numbers for backup power, water, food, and go-bag weight, then keep the assumptions visible instead of trusting a marketing figure.
Every tool below runs in your browser, keeps nothing, and shows its working. Each one is deliberately bounded: it produces a planning estimate you can check, not a guarantee, and it will not tell you a household is safe.
- Food Preservation & DehydrationDehydration Batch Log and Yield Cost CalculatorRecord a home-dehydration batch, calculate measured weight yield and entered cost, and keep method, equipment, package, and inspection details auditable.
- Water Storage & FiltrationEmergency Water Storage Calculator for HouseholdsCalculate a transparent emergency water-storage baseline, add household-defined needs, and turn the total into an accessible container and rotation plan.
- Evacuation & Bug-Out BagsGo-Bag Weight and Capacity PlannerCompare a household's chosen carry capacity with the real weight of personal, shared, and optional go-bag items without claiming a universal safe limit.
- Insurance Inventory & RecoveryHome Inventory Coverage Worksheet: Record Scope, Not Insurance CoverageUse a private browser-only worksheet to track broad home-inventory record scope and review triggers without entering values, policy details, or personal account data.
- Financial Emergency PreparednessHousehold Emergency Expense Planning WorksheetUse a browser-only worksheet to total broad household expense categories for a week, month, or disruption event without storing personal financial information.
- Emergency Food StorageHousehold Emergency Food Quantity CalculatorTurn your household's own meal choices into a transparent count of meal and snack slots for a three-day or two-week food reserve.
- Off-Grid Living BasicsOff-Grid Daily Water, Energy, and Waste PlannerCombine verified water, energy, sanitation-duration, permission, fire, weather, and waste inputs for a short off-grid trial without replacing specialist safety decisions.
- Backup Power SystemsPortable Power Station Runtime CalculatorEstimate battery runtime from watt-hours, usable capacity, and continuous load, then adjust the result for inverter losses, startup surges, temperature, and battery age.
What these tools will not do
A calculator can turn watts and hours into watt-hours. It cannot measure your equipment, know how long a person can go without treatment, or account for the condition of a battery you have not tested. Where a number carries real consequence — medical devices, heating, medication — the figure that matters comes from a clinician, a manufacturer, or a documented measurement, and the guide around each tool says so.
Treat the output as the start of a decision, then verify it against your own equipment before you depend on it.
